Your Questions Answered
On Wednesday 14th September a few Sprourters and one Young Newporter will be interviewing Leighton Andrews, the Welsh Assembly Minister for Education and Skills.
He's responsible for a whole host of things that have a huge impact on our everyday lives. If you're in school, Leighton Andrews has the influence to shape everything from your school uniform, meals and IT technology to qualifications. He's the person responsible for tackling pupil behaviour and bullying and ensuring that young people from a variety of backgrounds feel included and get an equal chance at an education.
If you're in university, it's Leighton Andrews that has control of fees charged to students, student support and bursaries.
If you're working or seeking work, yes you guessed it, Leighton Andrews is involved again; he's responsible for welfare reform, employment & careers advice and extending entitlement for people between the ages of 11 and 25.
Basically he's hugely important and this is your chance to get some answers.
Just leave your questions for the Minister in the comment section below and we'll do our best to ask them.
For a full list of the Minister's responsibilities, see here.

Our universities and colleges no longer seem to be teaching the skills that we need for employment; teaching methods are falling further and further behind the rest of the UK and the world - is anything actually going to be done about this, or are we just going to slowly become an educational backwater? Turkeys won't vote for christmas - so will the WG intervene to try and put our HE/ FEI's back on track?

How come some schools have more privileges such as school lockers and others don't? They expect us to carry all our lesson equipment in bags and complain if our bags break our if we end up having an injury thanks to an immature pupil pulling someone else's bag or injuring them another way thanks to all of what we have to carry around. Shouldn't we all be allowed to have the same thing in each school? Plus some schools have common rooms for all years or study rooms dedicated to a specific year group whereas others don't.

Why, at 16, do most of us know how to best answer WJEC exam papers but have no clue about how our country is run ? Why do our schools have such poor excuses for teaching sustainable messages/ promoting healthy lifestyles ? ( It is there but very much put aside) And what the bloomin heck is welsh bacc all about- it is a good idea in principle but meaningless and time wasting in reality.
