Sub-Editor’s Note: Here is the next piece in our ‘Your Opinions’ series. The news below is hot off the press! Comment below.

I’m sure we’ll all be supporting our English brothers when their World Cup campaign kicks off in Brazil in a month’s time, right?!

Well, maybe not, but here is a load-down of who is in and who is out of their 23-man squad anyway, as released just an hour or two ago. There are some famous names, some young faces, and some future aces in the pack. We want your opinions!

Big news just in to digest:

·         107-cap defender Ashley Cole retires from international football after being left out of the England squad, replaced as second-choice left-back by the emerging talent of 18-year old Luke Shaw, who was today bid for by Manchester United for £27million and a contract that would make him the best paid teenager in domestic football history.

·         Shaw joins Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert as Southampton’s three-pronged contribution to the pack.

·         Manchester United lynchpin, Michael Carrick, is left out of Hodgson’s 23-man squad, replaced by Everton’s rising Gascoine-esque figure, Ross Barkley.

·         Newly-crowned Premier League Champions, Manchester City’s goalkeeper, Joe Hart, secures the number 1 shirt for England after being much doubted by the poisonous media for large parts of the season.

·         Former England captain and Match of the Day poster boy, Gary Lineker rues the lack of strength in the defensive midfield area.

·         Cardiff City Captain, Steven Caulker, is left out. He should join Wales.

·         Four pieces of Liverpool’s deadly attacking strike force are included: Stevie Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge, Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson. They came oh so close to winning the Premier League title this year - can they help England come close to winning the World Cup?

Goalkeepers:

- Joe Hart (Man City)

- Ben Foster (West Brom)

- Fraser Forster (Celtic)

Defenders:

- Glen Johnson (Liverpool)

- Phil Jagielka (Everton)

- Gary Cahill (Chelsea)

- Chris Smalling (Man Utd)

- Phil Jones (Man Utd)

- Leighton Baines (Everton)

- Luke Shaw (Southampton)

Midfielders:

- Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)

- Frank Lampard (Chelsea)

- Jordan Henderson (Liverpool)

- James Milner (Man City)

- Jack Wilshere (Arsenal)

- Ross Barkley (Everton)

- Adam Lallana (Southampton)

- Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)

- Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal)

Forwards:

- Wayne Rooney (Man Utd)

- Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)

- Danny Welbeck (Man Utd)

- Rickie Lambert (Southampton)

Stand-bys: John Ruddy (Norwich), Jon Flanagan (Liverpool), John Stones (Everton), Michael Carrick (Man Utd), Tom Cleverley (Man Utd), Andy Carroll (West Ham), Jermain Defoe (Toronto).

YOUR OPINIONS:

So, what do you think of Hodgson’s dream team? Will England get out of the so-called “group of death” with this squad? Do you agree with Gary Lineker that the defensive midfield area is lacking in the bulge? Should we believe the hype about Barkley, Lallana, Shaw and Sterling or is the team too inexperienced for its own good? Will Hodgson survive the heat of Brazil?! How much could Bale and Ramsey add to this England squad?!
