I've got an Xbox 360 and my brother's got a PS3 down his house. I love both consoles. They're both brilliant in different ways :)

Nice article Scout. I know what you mean, PS3 is great and so is 360, Both have some great exclusives.
Especially MGS4 for PS3 and Halo Reach for Xbox 360. I don't understand what part of personal opinion the 'fan boys' don't get

I Like the PS3 because you can create an avatar and walk around and talk to people online. It has the internet and BBC iplayer plus you can download games from the playstation store before you buy them.

If you want to mess around with the case etc for a project with these gaming systems then the xbox is the way to go..

Pay nothing.... Get rubbish.
And seriously..... What makes you think the xbox can't do all that?
Download Demos before buying and what not.
PS3 = Playstation Store...
Xbox = Marketplace

Both allow the downloading of In game DLC, AND game demos.
Sure you get the iPlayer and an internet browser on your PS3.... Why on earth would you need those if you have a computer anyways? Not only will they run better on a computer but you cant view them in game anyways.... And it's pointless using a PS3 just for iPlayer or something... Right?

Sure suit yourself have your opinion. But nobody can really prove which console "owns" the other as they're both amazing consoles.

So guys.... Get a grip. Use the consoles for what they're for.... GAMING!

And, while I realise a decent gaming PC will cost a lot more than a console, I have to put my vote in for PC Gaming. The graphics are substantially better if you fork out for a decent graphics card and monitor. As well as DLC, you get the ability to mod your game -- if you don't like something about an element of a game, you can change it! (Or download a mod made by someone else)

I have so many mods for Fallout 3 that the game is almost unrecognisable from the original version, which keeps the gaming experience fresh even a year after first buying it.

Yeah PC gaming is awesome. It's just a shame my processor let's my graphics card down. My gfx card can play the latest games... But they run slow as my processor isn't very good. But yeah no matter how good consoles get.... A good computer will always be better than a console simply because you can change components and make the PC better.

And on the modding note.
I LOVE being able to mod Counter Strike Source with new weapon skins and sounds etc

Seriously though guys, if you REALLY want to debate which platform is better for gaming. Then take the arguement to PC. Because no doubt there are a alot of people on this site who's computers out class mine.

Both of the consoles are best in different situations. The PS3's great for the multimedia side of things, whereas the Xbox is more of a core platform that gamers like. I only have an Xbox, but I love it. The online servers are of a higher quality, there are less cloners (1 person with 2 or more accounts), and less people complaining constantly. It does have it's downfalls though, as the on-screen keyboard is absolutely AWFUL.

I think that your points are correct but I feel that playstation is much better for its online gaming due to it being free where with Xbox you have to pay for it. Plus playstation offers better games and will bring out more due to bungiee leaving xbox and will hopefully move to playstation bringing out games for playstation only.

PS3 is great and easy to use and has great features for watching films and programs but the internet is hard to use but if you have a computer then I personally think they are good but as for xbox I have never had one therefor I cannot judge.x

simply put, anyone whos sensible plays on PC, nearly all games are better on PC, much bigger library coz of amazing indie games and mouse and keyboard are so much easier to use than Ps3 and Xbox. I play my PC the most, then Wii, then usually play more xbox than ps3 because most of my friends play online on that

My analysis: they're both good for their own games, content and hardware, but both have their own faults. every one in this debate will back their own console because they feel obliged to. they feel that once they purchase a console, they're dedicated to making everyone feel the same way about their choice of gaming format. i've had my xbox for about 2 years naw but i have just got a ps3 i havent played it much but i do like it, naw sum people mite call me a trator but if you just play xbox you carnt experiment with different consoles but to be onist i'm more of a xbox purson miself

Xbox i fell is better for RPG`s such as Skyrim because the sound effects are better and the graphics are nice on mine but i like my PC more than anything

Guys i have played on both consoles and i have to admit that xbox 360 is alot better than PS3 for multiple reasons but i still think pc gaming is the future
