Get Your Camera Ready!
If you are 11 to 25-years-old, live in Cardiff and would like to show everyone your photography skills then you're in with the chance of winning some great prizes.
TheSprout is gathering photographs of young people, scenarios, situations and locations to use with the stories that you upload. To make it more interesting we're giving you the chance to see your photography skills published on the website in a city-wide competition.
Choose as many topics as you like and submit your best two images for each topic. We've given you some examples of the types of things you can take photographs of. Use your imagination and show us how original and creative you can be:
- Music (playing musical instruments, a band (yours?) in action)
- Dance (breakdancing, streetdance, ballet, belly dancing, whatever you think might be interesting)
- Multicultural Cardiff (community events, evening activities)
- My ambition is? (what are your goals? To climb a mountain? Do a bungee jump? What job would you love to do?)
- Technology (using gadgets, phones, computers, gaming systems etc)
- My Cardiff (show us something unique about your city)
- Where I live (your community, your area, the place you live)
- Art (street art, sketches, paintings, cartoons)
- Sport (football, rugby, martial arts, netball, snooker, pool, anything you take part in)
- Portraits (you, your friends, your family, your neighbours, youth workers, people you know)
Remember, the more categories you enter, the more chance you have of winning!
Finalists will be chosen by a panel including a professional photographer for each category with the overall winners of the competition chosen by a public vote on theSprout's homepage.
Release form information:
To be able to use the images on the website we need you to sign a release form, this means giving your permission as a photographer for us to use them. We also need you to get permission from anyone that is included in your photographs.

Submission information:
Scan in your signed release forms and send your photos with a brief description of what they are and where they were taken by email to thesproutcompetition@googlemail.com
