Win An iPad & Help iPensioners
Are you interested in winning an iPad and £100 worth of IT vouchers? Then keep reading....
The BT Internet Rangers awards are looking for young people aged 8-16 that have taught or helped any older people get online. The older person could be anyone - a family member, a family friend or someone from your community. You can be nominated by your school, a friend, or you can even nominate yourself!
There's also an opportunity to nominate your school for the BT Internet Rangers School Award as long as they use IT in the community. The successful school wins £4000 and the two runners up get £2500 each!
Last year's winner of the BT Internet Ranger Awards was 15 year old Terri Miller from Edinburgh. Her cousin had cerebral palsy and she set up computer literacy classes within her local community centre for people with disabilities to be able to engage online. People like Lilly-Ann who has Down's syndrome, attended the classes and said that Terri "made my life a little bit more enjoyable, as I find it hard to communicate with people and being able to use the internet and send emails makes it easier."
There are four iPads up for grabs - one for each national winner and the overall winner will receive an additional £100 of vouchers!
The closing date to submit nominations is Monday 24th October 2011 at 5:30pm. You can nominate or find out more by visiting the BT Internet Rangers' website.
