Why You Should Visit Pembrokeshire

This half term I spent my time in my cottage situated behind Roch in Cuffern, Pembrokeshire.

Pembrokeshire is a wonderful place with things to do all year round and to suit anyone and everyone. I have been thinking is there really any point in going abroad? The only thing that I think attracts people to overseas holidays is the hot weather, but there is never the wrong type of weather it is the wrong type of clothing... but I do like to go abroad sometimes.

The Pembrokeshire coast is a national park and it consists of lots of different beaches and villages. It is surprising how well-known Pembrokeshire is; St David's is claimed to be the smallest city in the UK because of the iconic cathedral, which is believed to be built by St David and St Patrick. Pembrokeshire is also famous because Abereiddy was home to the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series in 2012 and 2013.

Whitesands is also famous for Harry Potter and Doctor Who, who have filmed on it.

There are lots of things to do in Pembrokeshire for example coastal path walks on the 186 mile long coastal path, you can go crabbing from the harbour of Solfach, you can go canoeing, surfing, kite surfing and paddle boarding from many beaches including Whitesands and Newgale. Boat trips also run from Tenby to Caldey Island to see the monks' way of life and sample the homemade fudge and chocolate.

You could also go to Skomer from Martin's Haven to see the puffins, seals and other animals that call the island home. Why not try scuba diving on your holiday to Pembrokeshire with West-Wales Dive Company or if you can scuba dive try it from St Brides or Martin's Haven.

If you don't like beaches and water there is still plenty for you to do. In the town of Haverford West there are two retail parks to do some shopping, there is also a brand new swimming pool, and another attraction is the cinema. If you are willing to travel a short distance there is Oakwood, Oakwood Bowl, Folly Farm and the Blue Lagoon water park

Pembrokeshire is a pretty perfect holiday destination for all the family and all year round and roughly only 100 miles from Cardiff and two hours in the car, so I really don't know why anyone wouldn't want to go.

Oh man, the feels! I used to go camping down there all the time as a kid with my dad and the mention of the monks on Caldey Island brought it all flooding back. Man I'm tempted to hire a car and go watch the sunset!
