When CYC Meet NATO

A delegation from CYC will join other young people from across South Wales when they take part in a two-day Model NATO event in Newport at the same time as the main Summit in September.
Model NATO is a role-play programme supported by Professor Mark Webber, which aims to resemble decision-making within the Alliance. Each delegation has a team of five who is assigned a member state - CYC will be Poland! The purpose of the Model is to agree on communiqués and to undertake a crisis simulation. This is a terrific opportunity to expose CYC members to the rigours (and fun!) of negotiation, debate and advocacy. Across the two days of the event, the student delegates will propose motions, argue in favour of their particular country’s position and seek a resolution to an emerging crisis.
During the event, we hope to have a visit from the US-based Atlantic Council ‘Emerging Leaders’.
