What Matters To You?
Following Holly and Sam’s meeting with Jon House (Cardiff Council's Chief Executive), Jon himself requested that theSprout was used to get young people's views on a hugely important document that is currently being developed.
The document is called What Matters and it’s a plan to shape how Cardiff moves forward over the next 10 years.
All sorts of organisations have been consulted in order to create this document from the health, police and fire services to the Voluntary Sector and now it's your turn to have your say.
The aim of What Matters is to improve the quality of life of all people. It will have a huge affect on your life in Cardiff over the next decade.
It's based on seven key outcomes which are:
- People In Cardiff are healthy
- People in Cardiff have a clean attractive and sustainable environment
- People in Cardiff are safe and feel safe
- Cardiff has a thriving and prosperous economy
- People in Cardiff achieve their full potential
- Cardiff is a great place to live work and play
- Cardiff is a fair, just and inclusive society
The public are being encouraged to have their say on this document. As a young person you can do this in a number of ways. You can read the full what matters document here and leave your comments in the questionnaire, comment on the Young People's operational Plan* or even go along to a consultation event and give your views in person.
*Young people have already been involved in feeding into What Matters through the Children and Young People’s operational plan 2011-2014. To find out how this was done and have your say on their findings, click here.
Closing date 4th March.
