Yn Gymraeg

I've been reading articles on the CLIC network since the very beginning, back when all we had was a small Cardiff website called theSprout. The idea of theSprout was to be a News and What's On Guide for young people around Cardiff, but it quickly grew into so much more than that.

We encouraged young people to control every aspect of the site, from the design right down to the content, and the site soon evolved from simple news and reviews to a hub of creativity, especially creative writing: from poetry and prose, right the way through to full-length columns expressing your views and your interests for all to see.

Nearly 3 years down the line and CLIC has a dedicated website and editorial team in counties across Wales (and, by 2011, will hopefully cover the whole country!). While theSprout may have set the stage, the other sites were quick to pick up the pace: Wicid even has its own team of regular feature writers, and I eagerly visit each week to see what's new in the world of Vampire Timelord, Peter Piper and co.

We have a huge body of work in the CLIC archives now, and it gets bigger every day thanks to your creativity, commitment and courage to say what you believe and put it out there for the world to see.  And for that I salute you.

Vote For The Most Inspiring Submission

It's time to celebrate what we've built. Or, more accurately, what you've built: even if you've not yet written something yourself, just by visiting the site and leaving comments you are helping the CLIC network to grow.

In what I hope will be the first of many, a competition has been launched to vote for the most inspiring submission to CLIC. Everyone can vote; all you need to do is log in.

And if you're stuck for decent reading material, the list of entries should keep you going. Go, read them all, and leave comments! Then get inspired and write your own article, and submit it in our next competition.

Voting closes on Wednesday 17th November.

Hang on, you've been reading all the articles since the begining, including the ones on the other sites?

If so, please forgive all gramatical and spelling errors of mine. I'm young, and I'm still learning. =].

Hang on a minute, why is it that everytime you click on the link that says "vote for the most inspiring submition to CLIC" (third link from bottom), it takes you directly to the article Diabetes: My Story?

Well, I do know why, 'cause it says /vote#unews_35 at the end of the url, wish I guess takes you to that article.

Is that favouritism? Hmmm... (I joke. I just thought it was a bit odd, but meh, might be just me.).

=].

Oops - thanks for pointing that out!

Should be fixed now. (Although that Diabetes story is well worth reading, so you should still all go read it ;) )
