Here are the top ten books in Cardiff:

  1. The Lost Symbol - Dan Brown
  2. Wolf Hall - Hilary Mantel
  3. The Finkler Question - Howard Jacobson
  4. Room - Emma Donoghue
  5. Worth Dying For - Lee Child
  6. 61 Hours - Lee Child
  7. The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse novella - Stephenie Meyer

Other favourites in Cardiff are fiction, teen horror and historical fiction.

If you're interested in reading then a new book club for teens is launching soon and it's called Teens Aloud! So if you like biscuits or if you like reading book reading out loud or just listening then this is the group for you. There is no minimum age and no cost just a good time. This group is held in the Cardiff Central Library on Wednesday afternoons 4:30pm-5:30pm from 29th February. If your interested in this group then just get in touch with ctozer@cardiff.gov.uk.

If you're more of a solo reader then why not pop down to your local library - there are 20 of them around Cardiff, click here to find your nearest one.

But back to Dan Brown, he's not only popular in Cardiff but in the whole of the UK too. Public Lending Right has announced the most borrowed books from libraries across the whole of the UK.

no comic books or graphic novels?? that genre of books is sadly over looked for being childish, but some of the stories are better than most books, most prominant in my mind is that identity crisis and final crisis made me cry much more than either dumbledore or even dobby's death in the hp series. also, wheres the hunger games?

I think that if they did a list of what young people read they'll make an appearance. They should do that - don't you have to give your DOB when you get a library card? Surely they could filter for age? I dunno...

" The Lost Symbol " is a must buy book! I couldn't put it down after I started it although I agree that It would be good to have a list of books for kids as I currently have nothing to read! I pesonally enjoyed " The Cherub Series " by Robert Muchamore as it is brilliantly well written and full of nail-biting suspense: its perfect for those who love teenage spies, action and I would recommend it to all who love Anthony Horowitz's " Alex Rider " series and Charlie Higson's " Young Bond " series.

I have read a few different Stephenie Meyer books, (basically all the Twilight ones) but didn't really like The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner. Aint read the others.

Got something to say?
