Third home win of the season for Cardiff City.

Cardiff kept their unbeaten home record this season with a 2-1 win over a physical Leeds United side, who came into the game with exactly the same record as the Bluebirds. After a tight and goalless first half, Cardiff took the lead with a bullet of a free kick from the recently introduced Craig Bellamy. The Leeds goalkeeper, Paddy Kenny, got nowhere near to saving it.

Peter Whittingham scored Cardiff’s second goal from the penalty spot after a Leeds defender upended Nicky Maynard. Leeds United got a goal back from a 30-yard free kick by Rodoplh Austin that David Marshall in the Cardiff goal probably should have dealt with. This left a tense last 15 minutes or so for City to hold on to their lead, which they did.

The Bluebirds next two games are away to Millwall and Crystal Palace.

I thought Hudson had a solid game at the back. Bit cheeky of Leeds to wear blue, I thought.

Got something to say?
