The Rush Hour Series
The Rush Hour series are one of the funniest and well-known comedy franchises. All three movies star Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. They play Chief Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) and Detective James Carter (Chris Tucker). The first Rush Hour was released in 1998. It was a blockbuster, making over $245,300,000 worldwide. In the film Lee has to save Soo Yung (Julia Hsu) from criminals. Carter teams up with Lee and together they save her.
The sequel, Rush Hour 2, came out in 2001 and was even better than the much-loved first one. This time Lee and Carter have to stop Ricky Tan (played by John Lone) because he was plotting something very bad, but in the end he kills himself by falling out a window and into the top of a taxi. How very careless.
The final Rush Hour film, Rush Hour 3, was released in August 2007. This time the the guys were in Paris and it was a bit harder for Lee and Carter as they were up against Lee's foster brother Kenji (Hiroyuki Sanada). Kenji kidnaps Soo Yung (this time played by Zhang Jingchu) and in the finale Lee has to fight Kenji to save her. At the end of their battle, they both dangle precariously from the Eiffel Tower. Lee risks his own life to help Kenji, but Kenji willingly lets go so as to save Lee's life. He falls into a shop.
Wonderful ending huh?
