The Rise of Kiddo 360
“Kiddo 360 are a chocolate flavoured desert, with layers of Stereo MCs and Blondie biscuit, topped by a generous sprinkling of Portishead hundreds and thousands. Welsh brother and sister fronted melange pump up the beats and make you move those dancing feet.” www.kiddo360.com
Swansea’s Kiddo 360 formed during early 2005. The band members are: Rich (Sweep the Leg) & Vikky (Mai-zon) on vocals, Killa Phil (Philthy) on guitar, Adamski on drums with Jof (Mutron Love) on bass and The Vaughn Identity on synth. By June that year they were competing in the BBC New Talent competition final. The judges, Andrea Lewis (Darling Buds), DJ Richie Vibe Vee, Stuart Cable, BBC Wales Head of Talent Maggie Russell, Bethan Elfyn and Radio 1 producer Ed Richmond were unanimous in their choice of winner Kiddo 360.
They then had two tracks recorded at Stir Recording Studio in Cardiff with producer Greg Haver; they were Soul Stoned and Sexy Baby.
On Thursday 26th June 2008 I went down to Radio Cardiff and heard Kiddo 360 playing live on radio. They were awesome. The songs they played live on the radio were ‘Retro’, ‘Coffee’ and ‘Inside Smiling’. All of these songs were really good and if you would like to hear more follow the link to their Myspace music page: www.myspace.com/kiddo360
They are currently involved in a competition, which if they win will give them a record deal, giving them the chance to record their songs. They are the only band from Wales and the West to reach the Final. From 20,000 entrants in the contest they have reached the last 12, which is a great achievement.
Kiddo 360 will perform on the 28th June at the UK Live and Unsigned the Grand Final. The performance is located at The Fairfield, Croydon, London. The cost to attend is £15, and it's on television on Tuesday 8th July on Red, Sky Channel 186.
If you would like to vote for them, text unsigned35 to 84222 and help Kiddo 360 get the record label they deserve!

*The Sprout is pleased to announce that Kiddo 360 won their category at the finals, and had this to say:
"You won't believe or couldn't imagine how we are feeling - BLOWN AWAY!
We meet with Future Music next week to work through the plan. For now though we would like to thank the MASSIVE SUPPORT we've had from our fans, for texting, for coming to gigs and for coming to the regional semi-finals, finals and of course the GRAND FINAL!
The competition was immense, with professional and polished acts, and it still hasn't fully sunk in that we won. Crazy!
This means everything to us. We will produce an EP, tour (supporting high-profile names) then play festivals, release a single and hopefully EXPLODE UK WIDE!
We'll be updating MySpace once we have more info and look to get something a bit more professional set up too.
Thanks for the interest and give our regards to Marcus (@ Radio Cardiff). That was a great way to lead into this thing....."
