The Prodigy Return
The Prodigy have announced a fifth studio album.
Invaders Must Die is to be released on the band’s imprint Take Me To The Hospital through Cooking Vinyl on 2
It’s easy to forget that not only have The Prodigy given us some of the greatest hits of the rave era and beyond with Out Of Space, Voodoo People, Firestarter and (No Good) Start The Dance, but they also kicked the rock / dance wall through and gave a face to rave. 16 million albums sold, no less.
Unlike their confused last outing, Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned (who can forget the sight of Maxim and Keith miming over Juliette Lewis's vocals in the video to Spitfire?), a full collective of Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Maxim all feature on the new album for the first time since The Fat Of The Land in 1997.
The result, we're told, is a return to their bone-shaking best, a collision of old skool rave noise with the stratospheric limits of new technology.
The Prodigy play the Cardiff International Arena (029 2022 4488) on 5 April. Support comes from UK underground dance master Dizzee Rascal. TheSprout has its ticket (£28.50 subject to booking fee) and will see you down the front!
