The Movie-Perfect Christmas?

  • Snow Cardiff

Whenever you watch a Christmas film there is one key thing that happens... I’m talking about snow.

Christmas Day in the film world always involves snow; it wouldn’t be a Christmas film unless it had snow with everyone happy and cheery and playing in the snow, but this isn’t reality really.

Snow on Christmas Day doesn’t work in reality, however much you want it to, and it just doesn’t work! For instance if it snows children cannot go out to play on their new toys, how can you ride a bike or scooter in the snow – you cannot! How can you travel around the place visiting family when there’s snow around – you cannot! It’s true, there is very little that you can do when there is snow about. The snow might be nice to look at and it may be fun to play in but it’s not practical.

Just cast your mind back to last year, everything came to a standstill as the snow swept the country. What started off with happiness and fun turned into a fed up country, I think even children had enough of the snow by the time that it eventually went. It came down before Christmas and it didn’t leave until well after Christmas. The snow kind of ruined Christmas last year as the snow turned to ice and everything just became difficult.

But it looks like it’s on its way back this year, which means one thing; a ridiculous amount of Facebook statuses from people who reckon that it is snowing in certain places in the country. Even people who live a street away from you update that there is snow, when clearly there’s nothing falling from the sky. Let’s just hope that the snow doesn’t stick around for so long this time, if it snows at all.

I know many places across the UK have already had snow and are struggling to do normal day-to-day things, but so far in my little valley all we have had is sleet and rain.

I just hope that the Christmas weather is good for everyone. Bring me a cold, cloudless sky and bright day over rain, sleet and snow.

Interesting fact that it's snowing ATM in the alps where I'm skiing and had a great day on the slopes.

Got something to say?
