As the Cardiff Wales LGBT Mardi Gras parade came past the castle, loads came to gather to watch the fantastic event.

First came EverYoung and their colourful float full of bright balloons. They were followed by Eagle Cardiff, Tiger Bay Brawlers on their roller skates and the male choir all raising awareness by using bright banners, flags and having fun.

Everyone that gathered for the parade looked like they were having the time of their lives, dancing and singing.

The procession went down St Mary's Street, raising awareness and getting everyone ready for the exciting, fun-packed main event in Cooper's Field, which was filled with music, entertainment and fun for all.

Many joined the tail of the parade and followed it behind the castle, ready to get the party started.

Cardiff LGBT Mardi Gras is a huge festival in Cardiff held each summer. There is music, stalls, workshops and loads of other things to do. People dress up and celebrate all things LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender). You don't have to be LGBT to go, it is open to anyone. TheSprout attends every year as part of the Youth Zone, so I would certainly recommend going. Keep checking theSprout for more details about the 2013 event.
