Teen Love: Not So Simple

  • Teen Love

This is one of the things I think people are judged most on these days.

Let's face it, being a teenager and having all these hormones flying about and trying to get the girl or guy you like can be hard.

There is one thing that is really getting to me though.

I'm all up for a teen relationship; I'm in one. Y'know, go ahead date who you want but girls seriously stop giving your body to every single guy you're dating! It's ridiculous; unless you know this guy/girl seriously cares about you, don't give them your body! You get to know them, they get to know you, you go through the whole sparks phase.

Being a teenager is supposed to be one of the most fun times of your life; this shouldn't mean you should be trying to get into a serious relationship.

Another thing is that girls and guys are dating people up to 30-years older than them and more to the point, they are in intimate relationships with these people. I know that age shouldn't matter but in most cases the guy is doing it just for the 'fun' not the relationship. Wait till you're old enough and then go for whoever you want. [Sub-Ed Note: The age of consent in Wales is 16-years-old.]

Things with teens these days are so complicated now; it used to be go to a bar, fall in love, summer romance. Just fun, now everything has to be so serious.

Don't try and get tied down as a teen, make it fun!

Just be you, and don't let anyone get in the way of who you are!

Further to the note above...

"The age of consent for both heterosexual and homosexual intercourse in England and Wales is 16-years-old. This means it is against the law to participate in penetrative sex, oral sex or mutual masturbation under the age of 16."

We should shame the media and society for the pressure they put on girls to act a certain way, we should not shame girls. Why are you specifically shaming girls? Guys do that too. Girls just can't win in this soceity if she doesn't have sex she's a prude, if she does she's a slut. Let people do what they want with their bodies as long as it's consensual. Some teenagers of all genders just want sex not relationships, there shouldn't be any shame in that. If guys have sex they're a player. So annoyed with the media and society putting all these pressures on teenagers. Just let them be. I don't understand why people think how much sex someone else has effects them

A girl's body is hers to do exactly what she wants with. Nobody has the right to tell girls or guys how often they should have sex and who with. Slut shaming is poisonous to society and seriously harms people's perceptions of women. GO EQUALITY.
