Stranded In Switzerland
A British family were returning home from their holiday in Switzerland and stopped off in a petrol station to fill up the car. The parents believed that their twelve-year-old son was asleep in the caravan that they were towing on the back of their car. Which he was for a while, until he decided to have a nosey round the shop.
The boy's parents left the petrol station and drove down the road for about twenty minutes, until they stopped to check on their son, who wasn't there! They came up with a solution to go back to the petrol station, but took a wrong turning on the roundabout and got lost in the city of Basel.
They ended up asking the police for directions back to the petrol station. They got back to the petrol station in the end, thankfully.
One of the service station employees told the Swiss newspaper Le Matin,
“The child told us that while his parents were filling up with petrol, he got out of the caravan and went to look round the shop.
“But when he came back, his mum and dad had vanished.
“He was very calm about it all, saying his parents were often 'forgetful' and that he was sure they'd be back to get him soon.”
I'm not sure about you fellow Sprouters, but but I wouldn't like being left in a petrol station in Switzerland on my own. I think the boy was very calm in that situation! I don't think I would've acted so laid back...
