If you've submitted an article or event recently and are wondering why it hasn't appeared on the site yet, or if you’re wondering why we haven’t updated the feature since Sambow hurled abuse at Hannah Montana, fear not.  We at theSprout have not forgotten about you.

The reason for the delay is that theSprout is becoming approximately ten thousand times more awesome this week, as our mothership CLIC finally goes live.  CLIC is something we’ve been working on since the inception of theSprout and is designed to take networking in Wales to new levels.  Think of it as a cross between Facebook and The Yellow Pages, without all the boring stuff.

We’ll have a better database for storing our articles, have dedicated links to Facebook, Myspace, Bebo, Twitter etc and a design that is absolutely delicious (I’m sat in the design studio applying the finishing touches as I’m typing this, and believe me delicious is the right word to describe this new site).

While theSprout will still be in charge of Cardiff, it will be part of the larger CLIC network that will cover all of Wales.  The next step will be to set up dedicated websites (like theSprout) for every area of Wales, with local editorial teams to maintain and manage each website.  The sites will all be linked through CLIC, so if your story is good enough it will have the chance to go national and become visible to all of Wales instead of just your local area.  If you have any friends who lives in Wales but outside of Cardiff, tell them to get in touch because we are now accepting news, events and stories from all of Wales, and will be looking to recruit local editorial teams in your area soon.

While the website is top secret until it goes live, check out the video below for a taster.  And be sure to keep an eye on the site and our Twitter account for reports on our progress.

Thanks for your support, and we'll see you on the other side. - TheSprout Team

@Sambow, yeah some articles got lost between the transfer from the old site to the new one, but I am assured by the boffins that do the technical stuff that they will reappear... eventually.

I lost a load of articles too, so I know what you mean.

Got something to say?
