Scared Of Storms

  • There's literally stormy weather ahead.

I'm no longer scared of storms,
I know they're over in a while,
And so I watch the angry sky,
Watching, waiting with a smile.

I don't get scared, when it gets dark,
I know the dawn will rise quite soon,
But meanwhile I sit and watch,
The stars and the snow-white moon.

I could while away the hours,
Following each bend,
Along every path searching for,
That rainbow with an end.

What does it mean? I've never thought,
If a rainbow comes before rain?
If deathly darkness of night,
Is filled with light of day?

And if the sun strikes the land,
Before the night is through?
If the strike of lightning's evil arm,
Isn't followed be a boom?

The secrets of the whispering wind,
Could answer all that’s on my mind,
Until then I’m just happy to,
Take whatever I can find.

I really love the first verse of this. Just on it's own it is a really striking poem. The whole thing is good too :p
