Review: The Lady Boys Of Bangkok
The Lady Boys Of Bangkok: Glamorous Amorous

From seeing opera to this, you certainly can't deny I do see a great variety of shows our fair city has to offer.
I was unsure about the show. You really have to be in the right frame of mind to sit down and watch it. It started off well as my dyslexia made me spell Bangkok as Bangcock when writing down I was to see the show on the board at Sprouty Towers.
You would never think they were originally men. It must be the Thai complexion and facial features that can allow them to slip into the other gender so seamlessly. This is to be honest, a very superficial show. None of the songs are sung live by any of the cast. It felt like a grand Thai evening of karaoke. People were certainly having a good time and we even had a birthday in the house; they were given a cake and bottle of champagne. Wish mine had been sooner in the year.
The jokes were plentiful (and occasionally very dirty) and the songs had a decent mix of popular styles from today and the past. The countless costume changes contained a wardrobe of fabulous proportions. We regrettably had Gangnam Style, as well as It's Raining Men, YMCA, and Simply The Best amongst others. A highlight was someone dressed as Mary Poppins on one side of their body and Burt the other side to create a profile number with both characters. It certainly was a Jolly Holiday as we were laid witness to this act. The dancers were also on fine form.
Good for a laugh and a hearty singsong.
