I finished Limbo yesterday after buying it in a triple-pack with 'Splosion Man and Trials HD (I'll post reviews of these sometime soon).

It is definitely one of the best games of last year, not just in the arcade genre but all genres. I would even go as far as to say it would have been game with of the year if Mass Effect 2 or Super Mario Galaxy 2 hadn't come out. For me it draws for platform game and puzzler game of the year with Super Mario Galaxy 2.

Some people might look over Limbo because it is an arcade game, the fools, and because of its black and white art style, which I think is awesome.

I willingly admit that some, no, most of the puzzles in the latter levels with all of the antigravity and magnets are quite hard. But I only got really frustrated during the annoying evil glow worm sections (you’ll know what I mean when you get to that part) were you can't turn around.

Limbo has no cut scenes to interfere play, but this means it really doesn't have much have a story.

The best moment in Limbo is the ending. This isn't because I didn’t like it, far from it. Let’s just say that after one of the hardest puzzles this side of Portal, I was sitting upright on my sofa in my front room, mouth wide open, the controller on the floor, dropped from my sweaty palms as I gazed at the extraordinary ending and could only be moved when "PERSISTENCE HAS ITS OWN REWARD - 100G" popped up on the bottom of the screen and it returned to the title screen. Amazing.
