  • Reading Power Comedians

Yesterday (Wednesday 20th June 2012) I experienced probably the funniest day of my life.

At my school we entered the Reading Power Literacy Crimes Competition, where we had to submit examples of bad grammar and mistakes in pop lyrics to Reading Power, Cardiff Council's campaign to help tackle poor literacy in the city.

For entering the competition we were invited to go to a comedy gig starring Dan Mitchell, Clint Edwards (who were the hosts of theSprout's first awards ceremony) Mike Bubbins and Jordi Brown at the Reardon Lecture Hall in the National Museum Cardiff and it was hilarious!

The Reading Power Book Club is a new virtual book club for young people in Cardiff and involves, Reading PowerCardiff LibrariesCardiff CounciltheSprout and you!

Hi @MediaManiac

Your submission was too short to be a full article (http://www.thesprout.co.uk/en/news/be-involved/news-faqs/#Word count) but I felt that it was important to have on theSprout, so I added a few extra details for readers such as explaining what the Reading Power Literacy Crimes competition was, naming the comedians that performed and where the Reardon Lecture Hall was located, so that readers could better understand your day.

If you would like to resubmit your article with these points in mind and maybe expanding on what the comedy gig was like (which comedians you particularly enjoyed, what was the room like, what was the audience and atmosphere like etc.), we'd love to publish it.

As for the picture, as you didn't submit an image with your article, I used a press picture of the day. If you have any photos from the gig, we'd love to use them.

If you have any questions please post them below or email sam@theSprout.co.uk
