Hey look, is that April over there? Yes it is! And with a new month lurking about, it means that we’ve got to announce the next book for the Reading Power Book Club.

So without further ado, April’s book is

You Against Me by Jenny Downham

Here’s the blurb from the back of the book...

If someone hurts your sister and you're any kind of man, you seek revenge, right?
If your brother's accused of a terrible crime but says he didn't do it, you defend him, don't you?
When Mikey's sister claims a boy assaulted her, his world begins to fall apart.
When Ellie's brother is charged with the offence, her world begins to unravel.
When Mikey and Ellie meet, two worlds collide.
This is a brave and unflinching novel from the bestselling author of Before I Die. It's a book about loyalty and the choices that come with it. But above all it's a book about love.

Sounds good doesn’t it? Well here’s the green light to get hold of a copy and start reading ahead of the start of the discussion on Sunday 1st April! Click here to find your local library.

If you’re not sure what the Reading Power Book Club, then I’ll tell you. It’s a new virtual book club and involves Cardiff Libraries, Cardiff Council, theSprout and you!

Here’s how it works: One of the nice people from Cardiff Central Library brings in a load of books that they think we’ll all like to the Sprout Editorial Group (SEG) meeting (which is an open meeting where everyone is welcome to attend - next one is Thursday 29th March) and the SEG pick one. We then tell people about it around the middle of the month (hence this article) so they can all get a copy from their local library or wherever and have a chance to read it. Then we post another article on the first of the month and we discuss the book in the comments section. March’s book was The Hunger Games, check out the articles on it here and here. And that's it really, but if you have any questions, post them below!
