POTV- Power Of The Voice
What Is It All About?
POTV stands for Power Of The Voice (not Personnel Orbit Transfer Vehicle, Planet of the Vampires or Plain Old Television) and they are there to give you a voice.
The organisation was set up in June 2009 and is supported by the Active Involvement Team in Cardiff Youth Service. They offer you opportunities to make change, voice your opinions and get involved in issues that are important to you.
It's run on a “dip in and dip out” basis. So if there is something that you are passionate about or want to get voiced you can be supported in getting yourself heard. In other words, you can get involved in or set up projects that are meaningful to you! It is about making sure you have a voice and that your voice is being listened to.
Young people are at the heart of POTV, even their name and logo was made up and designed by young people.
But, can YOU benefit from POTV?
Definitely, there’s plenty! Have a gander at some of this:
Meet new people;
Experience new things;
Get involved;
Trips and Residentials;
Nationally Recognised Qualifications;
Stuff for your CV!
You Can Get Involved With POTV And Sink Your Teeth Into Some Of This Stuff!
The Young Inspectors Project is being set up by a group of young people because they think they should have a say about how well youth centers are being run by Cardiff Youth Service.
This year, with their pearly whites and shiny new toolkits, POTV’s
very first round of Young Inspectors have been dropping into youth
centers across the city. They are helping to put young people at heart
of Cardiff's Youth Service.
Speaking with the Young Inspectors will be your opportunity to get your voices heard and really create change!
If you want to be a Young Inspector, drop Lee a line on 07976056135 or email him leepatterson@cardiff.gov.uk
So Join Power Of The Voice!
It's currently made up of 30 young people from across Cardiff who are involved in different projects and passionate about being the change!
Anyone aged between 11 and 25 can get involved with POTV as long as you have an opinion, want to setup/get involved in projects and be the change!
We're also looking for Young Reporters!
POTV is looking to recruit Young Reporters from all across the city to make a massive noise about the stuff which is really important to young people and stuff going on in your community.
But, it’s not all about writing long articles; you could be the photographer, editor, comic strip artist and anything you wanted really (within reason obviously!).
Contact Paul on 07976 056 135 or drop him an email Paullewis@cardiff.gov.uk

But theSprout is already anonymous (except for the few users who use their real name), so what's the difference between submitting our view on theSprout and doing it using this POTV thing?
