POSITIVE IMAGES AWARDS
The Positive Images Awards are open to all young people and youth groups, as well as journalists, producers and presenters in the UK media.
Criteria for the awards
- Entries for the media awards must be media items that deal with young people or youth issues
- For the purpose of the Positive Images Awards, the definition of youth or young people refers to people aged between 11 and 25
- Entries must have appeared in the UK media between 1 January 2007 and 31 December 2007
- The closing date for entries is 28 March 2008
- Each entry must be accompanied by a completed entry form and any extra material required by that category (see “Categories”)
- Children & Young People Now will endeavour to return material where it is accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed envelope, but will bear no responsibility for lost items
- Judges have the right to reject any entry that in their opinion does not comply with the requirements of the competition
- Judges have the right not to award a specific category if, in their opinion, entries were not of a high enough standard
- The judges’ decisions are final. NO discussion or correspondence will be entered into regarding specific entries

- Print media - Best local press coverage of young people
- Print media - Best national press coverage of young people
- Best radio coverage of young people
- Best TV coverage of young people
Young people
- Best involvement by a young person in promoting positive media portrayal
- Best publicity campaignby a youth group
- Best magazine produced by young people for young people
- Best broadcast created by young people for young people
- Best interactive media created by young people for young people
How to enter
Entry is free. Simply follow these easy steps:
- Identify media coverage or activities that promoted a positive attitude to young people between January and December 2007
- Select the appropriate category
- Complete the entry form, attaching the evidence required by that category
- If you require evidence to be returned please attach an appropriately sized stamped addressed envelope
- Send the entry to Positive Images Awards, Children & Young People Now, 174 Hammersmith Road, London W6 7JP by 28 March 2007
