So, finally, Cardiff Wales LGBT Mardi Gras 2012!

There was so much hype leading up to this! And so much support too! This was such a great way to show just how wonderful LGBT and straight members of society really are. And you know what, your quirkiness really brought me out of my shell! I'm usually a shy quiet person, but after a couple of hours I was chatting with loads of people.

For us at TheSprout Mardi Gras was a fantastic day. We arrived upbeat and looking forward to the day to come, and we left really pleased with the way the day had gone, achieving some great success along the way! Many thanks to everyone who came on the day; you were all great, including me, haha!

So, for starters, thank you weather! Such a sunny and beautiful day and it never once changed! Thank you, thank you and thank you! Even the sun was happy that we were finally celebrating everyone in society!

Now Mardi Gras is massive and seems really hard to review coherently. I have a tendency to go off on wild tangents and so I think the best way to review Mardi Gras is to be like Mardi Gras! Different and innovative and trying new things! So don't expect a normal review.

M: Multicoloured! So many fantastic colours! You were all awesome.
A: Activities! From rock climbing and drunkard Olympics, quizzes and games, from face painting and bracelet building and so much more! There was always something to do.
R: Radiant Smiles! Now, a festival is one thing, but a festival that has everyone smiling is so much better! When I saw all the people smiling and laughing, I just had to join in!
D: Dancing & Divas! Now Strictly Come Dancing is one thing, but really, Mardi gras is way better! Everyone is dancing and having fun and the divas on and off stage were great!
I: Information! The information stands all around Mardi Gras did great this year, everything from we here at TheSprout to help at home, quitting smoking, flood risks, LGBT advice and even South Wales Fire Service were represented!

G: Guys & Girls! Well, lets face it, you all did an amazing job! Everyone who came made Mardi Gras even better! The great costumes and outfits and turning up with friends to have a great day, you made a really fun atmosphere to enjoy the festival in!
R: Representative! All LGBT and straight participants in the festival show how amazing we are when we stand united! Everybody did great in showing just why every LGBT deserves to live a normal life in society without being shunned!
A: Appropriate! Mardi Gras was appropriate; it had the glitz and glamour, the fun and food, the rides and good mood! It was all about having a great time and showing off an inclusive society, which I think we all proved is a great thing!
S: Sun & Shops! Not one person could have complained about cold weather on Saturday! It was lovely and warm and the sun graced Cooper's Field with its dazzling rays. The shops set up contained some of the funniest merchandise I've ever seen and sure made me laugh, I just wish I'd bought some! All the gear was quality and unique, if you didn't but any, you will be regretting it like me when your friends are showing off!

So this is my quick review on Cardiff Wales LGBT Mardi Gras 2012. I do plan on doing a more detailed review, but you must forgive my hectic life right now! However a big thanks to all the staff at TheSprout who made the day really fun and helped keep me smiling all day (even though I was exhausted!).

I'm sure over the next few days more stories of Mardi Gras will get posted, so please join in with your own opinions and comments!
