TheSprout.co.uk headed down to Grassroots on Wednesday for #MHAWdiff - the Mental Health Awareness Day for young people.

As well as spreading the word about mental health and talking to lots of cool people (including Madlen who has an awesome website called All My Strength about youth mental health awareness), our main role was to conduct the official vote on the new name for the... *deep breath* Young People's Involvement Group on Mental Health Services in Cardiff & The Vale.

At a meeting last month the group came up with two names and animated logos: Wi-Speak and Join The Dots

People flexed their democratic muscles for the second time in a week, picked their preference and popped their papers in our patented Super Special Sprout Ballot Box (definitely not an old Quality Street Tin). The ballots were counted and recounted and Join The Dots won by a landslide.

The first meeting as Join The Dots will be in Grassroots on Charles Street on Wednesday 17th June 2015. For more details please contact Linda Newton on linda@cavamh.org.uk or ring 029 20 222 000.

The reason the group exists is that decisions are currently made about mental health services for young people in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan with no direct input from the people that use them. This needs to change and we want to help you change it.

Also at the event, Cardiff Youth Council made the cool video that you can see above with some of the stuff from the stalls present - holler at the two Sprout stickers!
