On Wed 19 November, McFly are to play the Cardiff International Arena as part of a massive arena tour.
Their summer anthem One For The Radio, the debut release on their own label, Super Records, is out today (Mon 14 July), and the single is an ode to the fans that have made them one of the biggest British bands of the decade; One For The Radio wraps its energetic pop melody in crashing drums, cascading guitars and jubilant lyrics that come on like a call-to-arms. Recorded in Australia in January, produced by Jason Perry, former frontman of rockband ‘A’, the first single from the band’s forthcoming, fourth album, Radio:ACTIVE, marks a glorious start to the second stage of the quartet’s career.
Last year, McFly opted to leave the major label that launched them in 2004 and helped them achieve multi-platinum sales success. Funded by the band themselves, Super Records is a wholly independent operation, staggering not just for an act of their size but because all four members are only aged between 20 and 22.
“Are we nervous? Not at all. These songs are by far the best we’ve ever done. We’ve never been happier,” says drummer Harry Judd. "The joy and excitement you hear in One For The Radio sums up how McFly feel right now. We can’t wait for our fans to hear it and we can’t wait to play it to them live."
Tickets are £26 and £16 and go on general sale on Sunday 20 July @ 11am
