Are you aged 16-23? Well I ask as Oxfam is looking for people aged 16-23 to join their Youth Boards. As a member of you’ll shape Oxfam’s campaigning, training and awareness-raising projects with young people.

Aside from y'know helping the world there are a few personal benefits too, such as building your skills in campaigning, communications and teamwork, meeting and working with like-minded people and you'll have the opportunity to get involved in exciting campaigns and events as a youth representative of Oxfam. Oxfam will support you to turn your ideas into engaging projects that you can run in your own community.

Initially as an applicant you don’t need to know anything about global poverty or campaigning, but you must have the enthusiasm to learn about them as well as the get-up-and-go to put your ideas into action.

Will you be aged 16 – 17 on the 1st of September 2011? Then apply for the Youth Action Board

You will take a lead role in campaigning regionally to raise awareness on Oxfam’s key campaigns for a commitment of one-to-two years. You will join one of five such groups nationwide and will meet once a term in the Oxfam campaigns office in Cardiff. If this sounds right up your street then download Oxfam Youth Action Board Role Profile (.pdf file) and application form (Word document). Deadline for applications: 1st July 2011

Will you be aged 18 – 23 on the 1st of September 2011? Then apply for the National Youth Board

Oxfam’s National Youth Board is a group of people aged 18-23 from across England, Scotland and Wales, who help shape Oxfam’s campaigning work with young people. Members commit to being on the board for two to three years. Board meetings will take place at various UK locations. To apply, download the National Youth Board role profile (.pdf file) and application form (Word document). Deadline for applications: Monday 30th of May 2011

Hi OxfamGBYouth, the article is very old because it was published in 2011. As a policy we do not delete old articles.

We'd very much like to post news of further opportunities, any news can be submitted directly to the site here.

Apologies for the slowness of my response, I've been on holiday and the person covering me was unsure on how to proceed.

Cheers.

Got something to say?
