Is She Worth This?
I had my foot down on the floor,
Till the car could rev no more.
I saw the approaching truck.
I am here to test my luck,
The one who swerves loses,
That's the name of the game,
I guess the reaper will choose this.
The bridge starts to give way,
The weight causing it to sway,
But forwards I remain,
Like an unstoppable freight train.
I feel that the end for me is nigh,
If I swerve or hit the truck I die.
The hungry crocodiles beneath us,
No paramedics will reach us.
People will never understand this fight,
But we're both fighting for what is right.
The right to call her ours,
Give her chocolates,
Send her flowers.
It's a weird sort of life,
But I want her as my wife.
We could both die today,
But hey, that's our say.
So as we continue with this fight,
I am quickly approaching his headlights,
But he suddenly hits the brakes,
And jumps out of the truck to escape,
Like in slow motion on a tape.
I slow down and watch the truck fall with the twit,
I feel my heart beat quicker with the adrenalin rushing as I sit.
I rush back to my now fiance,
She was glad that I was OK.
We talked for hours about what went on,
And decided this was what the heavens had writ.
Being with her just proved one thing,
This was all definitely worth it.
