I ? Horse Riding
I am a young girl who absolutely loves horses and horse riding ever since I was little. I now have one horse called Spencer, as I sold my pony Lois a few days ago.
I am going to tell you the basics of caring and the basics of riding a horse, starting with caring for a horse.
1. You have to see your horse regularly to make sure he/she is okay.
2. You have to brush them regularly to make sure they stay clean, so no flies bother them.
3. You have to ride them often to keep them fit.
4. You have to clean their stables everyday ? skip means to take the poo out and muck means to take it all out.
5. You have to make sure you give them all the love and attention you possible can!
Now for the basics of riding a horse.
1. There are three simple steps in riding a horse. They are called walk, trot and canter and are used a lot.
2. To walk you must relax your hand and sit back and the horse will just walk.
3. To trot you must keep your hands relaxed and tap the horses belly and it will start to trot. As you are trotting you must start to rise up and down and keep the beat for the horses comfort.
4. To canter you must start in a trot then as you are rising, sit in the trot and give the horse another tap and off you go into a canter, although some horses are not as easy going as others!
5. Just enjoy it! It's really fun, give it a try but remember to wear your riding hat just in case!
I hope this little article has helped you learn about horses and I hope you give horses a try.
I know they look scary but if you pick the right one they are big babies!
