I Am Who I Am
I was talking to a friend today, and she was telling me about how she doesn't like this one girl because she thought her bag was more popular and expensive than the girl I was talking to's bag.
This really got me thinking - I told her about how I don't feel the need to buy things, wear things and like things just to fit in.
For example, I enjoy opera while everybody else is head-banging along to Now 86.
I enjoy wearing baggy and nerdy t-shirts while everybody else is wearing the new styles.
I wear my same old size 8 boring daps, while everyone else is wearing Vans and high heels.
I understand how hard a Year 7 like me will find it to fit in, but my attitude is: "This is me, you don't like me, fine."
I mean, don't get me wrong - if you're wearing make up and Vans and Gilly Hicks, be my guest. All I'm saying is, I am my own person. I like what I like, and don't like what I don't like.
Am I wrong in thinking this way? (Leave your comments below)

Agree. I wore Gilly hicks to my last non uniform an somebody told me 'that's totally out of fashion' I was down the whole day but really thinking back I should of just thought whatever because im comfy I'm happy what does it care what you think. I wish people would stop being so judgemental and let everyone just be there own person because at least I can walk into a room without the latest trends. High school is a tough place!
