We're after your questions for the person in charge of health in Cardiff.

Did you know that Cardiff has a ten-year plan to become the most liveable city in Europe?

Cardiff's What Matters Strategy is essentially a giant to-do list for Cardiff Council.

It involves lots of people working together to improve aspects of our everyday lives, through the Cardiff Partnership.

The plan is to ensure that:

  • People in Cardiff are healthy
  • People in Cardiff have a clean, attractive and sustainable environment
  • People in Cardiff are safe and feel safe
  • Cardiff has a thriving and prosperous economy
  • People in Cardiff achieve their full potential
  • Cardiff is a great place to live, work and play; and
  • Cardiff is a fair, just and inclusive society

Well, the democratic-minded people at the City Council are reviewing this plan and - you guessed it - they'd like to hear from you. TheSprout has teamed up with the Cardiff Partnership and will be doing a series of interviews with the leaders of Cardiff's main institutions, and they want the questions to be yours, as people who breathe the air of this promising, growing city.

We started last month with Chief Superintendent Belinda Davies answering your questions on safety and policing in Cardiff (amongst other things) and now we're on to health and Maria Battle.

Maria Battle is Chair of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and we're after your questions. All your health-related opinions, questions and suggestions will be entertained. Things like:

  • Dentists - where have all the NHS ones gone?
  • Doctors surgeries - something about opening times?
  • Mental health provision in the city - is there enough?
  • Smoking - e-cigs are in the news a lot at the mo...
  • Drugs & Alcohol - again legal highs, especially nitrous oxide, are never far from the headlines...
  • Fitness and nutrition - is there enough places to do exercise?

Questions need to be submitted by Monday 31st August to whatmatters@cardiff.gov.uk

Otherwise, you can leave them in the comments section below, at facebook.com/theSprout.co.uk or tweet us @FeedTheSprout.
