Grassroots, Cardiff's city centre youth project down on Charles Street needs your help.

They need your help so that they can help young people in Cardiff, as they've done since 1979.

"Through Grassroots' doors will walk a young person straight out of care, a Big Issue seller, a teenage mum with two kids, a young man just out of prison, a transgender teenager chucked out of the family home, a vulnerable teenager with a black eye and mental health issues, an asylum seeker who's heard about our music studio.

"These young people are all in need of support and Grassroots will phone a hostel for them, find them a bed for the night, explain why the Job Centre won't pay them. The real work of the project starts when we listen to their problems."

As you may be aware Cardiff is in the middle of some heavy cuts, thanks to austerity, and that's set to continue for a few years yet. So anything you can spare would be gratefully received. At the time of typing they've raised over £5000, which is amazing but they still have away to go, so...

This place definitely needs to stay open! I hate it when places like this are closed down; it's just the government being selfish!
