The National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) Cymru wants to create a new poster to tell teachers, school staff and pupils all about deafness and we’re calling on young deaf people to help us!

The project is a response to concerns raised by young deaf people during the If I Could Change One Thing campaign, which the charity ran last year. Young people who responded to the campaign told NDCS Cymru that they wanted hearing people to know more about deafness.

NDCS Cymru is now calling on deaf students to download a template from our website and give us ideas for a new deaf awareness poster. The winning entries will see their designs on a new poster which will be distributed to schools across the country during Deaf Awareness Week (28 June to 4 July).

Jayne Dulson, Director of NDCS Cymru, said: “We hope that many deaf students will help us create the poster to make a difference in their schools. After all, you are the experts!”

The project is open to all deaf children and young people in Wales. To download the template and to learn more about the project, visit our website - but hurry, the deadline is April 30th!
