Four Ways To Reboot Your Immune System
Yes it’s that time of year again where you are most likely get a cold or flu.
December is known as the month where more of us start to sneeze a lot. So it’s now time to strengthen your immune system, so we're all ready for December.
Firstly I will tell you your mother’s advice. Eat your five a day. We must be receiving antioxidants and vitamins. Antioxidants will boost our natural defence not only against common infections, but also contribute to ageing, cancer and heart disease. The best source of antioxidants are beta – carotene. This is where vitamin is needed. Beta – carotene is a form of Vitamin A. Do you see how it all links in? Both Vitamin A and C are found in green vegetables while vitamin E is found in soya, olive oil and nuts.
Here is another thing were all not so keen about doing. Exercise! Exercise can boost the production of our white blood cells which fight off infections. Therefore this will result in a better immune system.
Thirdly, this is something we are all happy to do. Get plenty of rest. Relaxing not only makes you comfortable and puts you in a good mood, but it has a positive effect on our immune system. Research from the University of Reading shows that stressful thoughts can lower the levels of antibodies in our immune system. Antibodies are important as they attack the foreign disease and destroy them. Alternatively people who are happy, have high levels of antibodies.
Last of all – just have a laugh. Researchers at the University School of Medicine in California found out that laughter strengthens our bodies’ infection fighting cells, as well as put us in a good mood.
So there you go. Four simple things you can do to strengthen your immune system. You got to be honest, there not as hard as you thought they were, are they?

I'm home from school with a nasty cold. I think I'm going to watch some Lee Evans on Youtube for a bit to get me laughing, ask my mother for a healthy dinner/tea/whatever people call it and if I'm in school tomorrow, feeling a bit better, I shall be playing Netball in PE. If not, I'm have a go on my Wii fit when I am better. And I've slept all morning so that's me rested up. Thanks for the awesome advice! Great article! x
