Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller

1hr 48mins, 18+

Marvel. Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds. If you're not excited already, well, still go watch Deadpool, because it's totally worth it. Take it from a person who gave the new Star Wars movie a 6/10 rating (yes, I know, very unfair, how could I, etc).

Where do I begin? Oh, right, opening credits. Yes, you are going to fall in love with this movie starting from the opening credits.

Simple, but brilliant - those would be my three words to describe the entire movie, from start to finish.

Looking back, thanks to the movie's marketing campaign - which was a huge success by the way - I already had very high expectations weeks before I actually saw the movie. Standing in the theatre lounge, I was a bit nervous, thinking, "What if all the cool moments have already been shown?"; they released two trailers and numerous short clips for fans, after all. Worry not, there are plenty of badass scenes in the movie that will make you go "Woah!", and even more of those that will make you think "I wish this moment lasted longer" (Ryan Reynolds in all his glory, if you know what I mean).

Like I said before, the plot is awfully simple: no unexpected twists or shocking events. At the same time, its predictability doesn't bother you for a second. The whole thing feels like a good fun. Don't sweat if you haven't found anyone to go see it with - go on your own. You see, Deadpool is aware that he's a comic character, hence constant communication with the audience, which will make you feel like you're watching the movie with a friend: a hot, witty, supernatural friend (now, you probably don't want to bring your boring friends along!).

I cannot but dedicate a special paragraph to the Colossus character - a Russian mutant, one of the physically strongest X-men team members. We only see him in Deadpool in his metallic form, but that's not the point. Fun Russian accent and an extremely polite manner of speech are the things that oppose him to the reckless non-stop swearing Deadpool. You'll fall for this character as he tries to teach the naughty Wade some wisdom by punching him, handcuffing him to his iron wrist, dragging him across the motorway, and other fun activities that resulted into the movie being rated 18+.

Talking about 18+, one of the main storylines (if not the main) is a great romance between Deadpool and the love of his life. Like everything else in this movie, it's simple and brilliant. Go see for yourself, if you don't believe me.

Witty jokes, striking battle scenes, tonnes of fun references to the most awesome and most awful movies you have previously seen - you don't even have to be a Marvel fan to appreciate this superhero movie. Simply go and treat yourself for something that is easy and fun to watch. Go and see Deadpool.

Rating: 9/10
