February 2014's book is...

SilverFin by Charlie Higson.

SilverFin begins with James Bond arriving at Eton for the first time. He is about to continue his schooling having been educated at home by his Aunt Charmian following the deaths of his parents in a climbing accident.

As he begins to get used to the rules and traditions of Eton, he makes new friends, but he also incurs the wrath of George Hellebore and his arms-dealing father, Randolph.

James's adventures continue in the Highlands of Scotland, where he investigates the mysterious disappearance of local boy Alfie Kelly, With the help of Alfie's irrepressible cousin Red. They soon make the unwelcome discovery that the castle at the end of the nearby loch is the home to the Hellebores and the centre of Randolph's terrifying genetics project; a project that must be destroyed at all costs.

So there you go, this month's Reading Power Book Club selection is SilverFin by Charlie Higson. You don't have to buy the book, just take a trip to your local library and borrow one for free.

And not only that but we're going dual format. What the blazes does that mean? Well not only is SilverFin a very good book but it is also a rather nifty graphic novel - you can check out an extract of it here.

Once you've read it either the book or the graphic novel come back here and post your thoughts in the comments section below.

If you have already read it, please share your views on the book and let's get the discussion going!

This is such a brilliant book and also a brilliant intro to the Young Bond series. I highly encourage you to read it. Obviously, I don't want to give anything away but I assure, it's worth a read, particularly if you're a Bond fan.
