Crown The Empire
After falling in love with the six-piece’s (Andy Leo: vocals @andrewcte, David Escamilla: vocals @davescamilla09, Brandon Hoover: guitar @brandoncte, Ben Suede: lead guitar @bennettcte, Hayden Tree: bass @haydentree and Brent Taddie: Drums @brenttaddie) Christmas cover of Let It Snow last year, I haven’t stopped listening to them.
Their debut EP that came out in 2011 blew me and many other post-hardcore/electronica fans away. The idea behind the EP was trying to make people feel limitless and the EP was titled as that. They just did that. Crown The Empire have saved mine and many other people’s live and blown us away with their incredible live shows, touring with the likes of Pierce The Veil, Motionless In White and We Came As Romans.
They are currently signed with Rise Records, who are also the proud home of bands such as; Of Mice & Men, Woe, Is Me, Sleeping With Sirens, Miss May I and Memphis May Fire.
Crown The Empire have also featured on Pop Goes Punk with a cover of Drake’s Payphone. You also want to look out for their cover of Moves Like Jagger. Their new full-length album was released today (Tuesday 20th November 2012) and is called The Fallout. Some of the songs were leaked on to YouTube so you can easily find them if you want a sneak peak before buying.
Along with their impressive musical talent they are some of the nicest people I have ever met. I saw them play with Pierce The Veil back in September. As much as I love PTV, Crown The Empire were the reason I was there and I was pretty much crying when I had the chance to tell the lead singer Andy Leo that. He hugged me, picked me up and then had about 10,000,000 photos with me. I was so happy and it was nice to see that him and the other members of the band (whom I all got to meet) really do care for their fans.
I somehow managed to get right to the front for their set and landed on the side of the stage. I didn’t have much of voice left after screaming the entire set list of Walls, Limitless, Wake Me Up, Johnny Ringo, Breaking Point and Voices. I also managed to grab a set list that Andy and David Escamilla (The un-clean vocalist) both signed in pink. They all signed my copy of their EP and I got a group photo, which was my Facebook profile picture for a while.
So make sure to check them out and pick up The Fallout. Crowns up!
