Have you ever wondered how they create the characters in Doctor Who

Who choreographs the Welsh National Opera performances? 

How record labels sign bands or how you get a career in the exciting world of media?

If we have captured your attention, Thursday 26 March is a day you cannot afford to miss. 

The 14-19 Creative And Cultural Industries Steering Group with Cultural Services and the 14-19 Network, as part of the Bro Dysg partnership in Rhondda Cynon Taff, have teamed up to provide YOU with an informative and innovative day to find out about how you can get into the exciting world of creative industries.

Artists, performers, directors, photographers and producers are just some of the industry professionals who will be available at Coleg Morgannwg's Llwynypia campus for one day only Thursday 26 March 2009 to talk about how they secured successful careers and the different routes available to you in the creative industries.

- Justin Kerrigan: writer and director of Human Traffic and I Know You Know 

- Owen Powell: former Catatonia guitarist and Duffy songwriter 

- Gavin Allen: Arts Correspondent with Media Wales 

- Mike Walmsley: Development Manager of the Welsh National Opera 

- Gareth Lloyd Roberts: Artistic Programmer at Wales Millennium Centre 

- Sarah Cole: Production Manager for SC Productions Ltd 

- Simon Dancey: Director Of Creative And Cultural Skills, Wales 

- Steve Davis: Artistic Director of Spectacle Theatre 

- Darren Warner: photographer and co-founder of Plugged In Magazine

- Alison Saunders: Wardrobe Supervisor, Royal Welsh College Of Music And Drama

The seminar will be hosted by comedian, TV and radio writer and presenter Chris Corcoran, who will act as Champion For The Day.

There will be careers advice from local organisations in Rhondda Cynon Taff and South Wales including:

The day will be split into three sessions and you are welcome to attend all day or just one session.  There will be networking opportunities throughout the day as well as an opportunity to visit the marketplace, which will house the stands of Welsh based creative industries organisations.  Sessions will include: 

- Performing Arts: Drama and Dance,

- Craft, Design, Fashion and Photography

- Music and Media
