*Closed* Book Comp: Beat Girl
When the summer comes around many of us like to find ourselves a good book to while away the hours. The only problem is trying to find the right book!
On 13th June the highly anticipated novel Beat Girl by Jasmina Kallay is released and theSprout is delighted to offer you the chance to win a copy of the novel that will solve all your seasonal literary dilemmas.
Beat Girl follows 21-year-old Heather who, after the death of her pianist mother, is forced to move in with her estranged father and half-brother. Heather is determined to continue her mother’s legacy by getting in to The Juilliard School but while in London she meets Toby the hip and handsome music store owner. After being introduced to the underground world of DJs and dance music, Heather is unsure of where her own future lies. She soon discovers that music is inseparable from feelings and without the emotions, the dreams, and the people we love, life, just like music, would not make sense.
The book has already been turned into a film, which is due for release later in the year, and will also be made into a series of webisodes.
So for a chance of winning one of three copies of Beat Girl all you need to do is ‘like’ theSprout’s Facebook fan page and post ‘I NEED A SUMMER READ!’ on the timeline. You have until 2pm on Monday (11th June 2012) to enter and we'll reveal the winners here and on the fan page at 4pm.
Good luck!
