I'm just remembering one of the best memories I have of a Cardiff City match.

When Cardiff City beat Leicester City in a dramatic play-off semifinal.

David Marshall was Cardiff's hero after he saved two of Leicester's penalties in the shoot-out when the match finished 3-3 on aggregate.

Cardiff City were ahead by one goal after Peter Whittingham's shot in the first leg.

First Half

And it was Cardiff who got the first goal in the second game from a long ball when Jay Bothroyd got the flick on for Michael Chopra to shoot and put the ball underneath Chris Weale.

But three minutes later Matty Fryatt made the tie wide open again. After a nice one-two with Steve Howard he put the ball underneath David Marshall to put the score at 2-1 on aggregate.

Leicester then scored again after Steve Howard was allowed a free header and then it bounced off Mark Hudson's head and into the back of the net.

The teams went in at half-time with the score at 2-2.

Second Half

Then Cardiff's slack defending let Leicester have a third goal. Paul Gallagher put in a cross and Andy King headed the third in after 49 minutes.

It was nearly four after Jack Hobbs header was booted off the line by Peter Whittingham.

Then Howard Webb gave Cardiff a penalty after 69 minutes after Chopra was tripped while trying to get to Mark Kennedy's ball.

Peter Whittingham shot the penalty down the middle to put the tie level on overall.

Later, Bothroyd hit the crossbar after skipping past three defenders.

At the other end Marshall saved Howard's shot from point-blank range.

Extra Time & Penalties

Then extra-time came. Chopra and Kelvin Etuhu came close, but no one could score. It went to penalties.

Yann Kermorgant tried a cheeky chip but Marshall saved. Then Kennedy scored and when Martyn Waghorn missed his after a great save by Marshall, we were off to Wembley to meet Blackpool...
