Christmas On Benefits
Christmas on benefits is hard no matter what benefits you are on!
I say this because this year I am finding it hard to cope with the finances, especially when my benefits don't come in till the Thursday before Christmas, and you know that doesn’t leave much time to buy Christmas Presents, especially as I haven’t got any yet. I've got to get my mother one, my sister a couple, and my dad one, and I guess I should get one for my mother's girlfriend as well. I'm only getting small things for them as I can't afford that much, but still I'm going to be spending a lot for my beautiful amazing friend - I'm adopting a puppy for her, as a Christmas/New Year present from the Four Paws charity.
But that’s the biggest expense I'm paying out this year and hopefully I’ll still have some money left over so that my wallet isn’t empty this new year.
But let's continue with this...
Well benefits as we all know don’t actually pay that much, but at least its a regular income and there are a few other benefits out there, such as the Training Schemes, and on some benefits, if you talk to a careers advisor you can tell them what sort of training you're after and they may be able to sort you out with a course usually free of charge.
If you are over 18 and you have been made redundant in the past six months, you may be entitled to ReActII Funding; it is up to £1500 and can be used for retraining. I've taken this option and I will be doing a SIA Qualification (Door Supervisor and CCTV Operator), I'll let you know how it goes when I start. But that’s another story, as you can probably tell this is a kind of mixed article, well anyway, merry Christmas all!
