AV: Explained (With Cats)
If you're anything like me, you've had a lot of propaganda posted through your door lately telling you why you should (or shouldn't) support AV on May 5th. And, if you're anything like me, rather than thinking "Yes to AV" or "No to AV" you've just been wondering what the hell AV actually *is*.
It stands for Alternative Vote, and if you vote Yes on May 5th you're voting for a change in the way voting works in Britain. The problem with all the leaflets I've had shoved through my door is they're clearly all written by parties with an agenda. They're all pretty vague on explaining what AV is, and instead basically say either "AV is the greatest thing in the world and will cause kittens and marshmallows to rain from the sky" or "AV is evil and if you vote for it Nick Clegg will eat your babies."
I find both of these arguments pretty biased. So, as a public service, I have searched the internet for a simple, honest and easy-to-follow explanation.
Ladies and gents, I present to you: Electoral Reform Explained...By Cats! *Points to the video in the corner*
I, for one, found cats explained AV a hell of a lot better than any of the leaflets I've been reading. I'm hoping that by posting this it'll explain it a little better to others as well.
Do you have a counter-argument? To me this seems like a really good thing, but if you plan on voting No to AV on Thursday I'd love for you to share your opinions by leaving a comment below.

Thank you for this! It was very awesome! THe video made me laugh! Although the video was somewhat biased in favour of AV, even though it was led by a party, so it's ok =) Thanks again =)

If you want a slightly more serious examination of AV, there's a great piece in today's Independent (comparing it to the X Factor):
If You Get The X Factor You'll Get AV

Oh, the video is clearly biased in favour of AV. But I'm sure you're smart enough to make up your own minds about whether or not you support it.
I chose it because it *explains* AV very well compared to all the pamphlets and stuff I've read.
I hope everyone takes the time to vote today, no matter what you vote for.
