Are You Ready To React?
Do you like watching plays in the theatre?
Whether it be for study purposes or just to see a pleasant play, the New Theatre in Cardiff constantly put on performances that accommodate all personal preferences.
Plays with high star ratings are always being performed in the New Theatre throughout the year by gifted actors and actresses. For instance, Julius Caesar (for all you literature lovers out there) is being performed between the dates of the 23rd and the 27th of October 2012. For all the classic musical lovers, Bugsy Malone is there between the dates of the 30th of October to the 3rd of November 2012. The list of shows is huge.
Staff at the New Theatre want more young people to be interested in watching plays there. Due to this, React, a new initiative has been put in place there. Aimed at 16 to 25 year olds, this scheme is free to join and will allow viewers between 16 and 25 to save money on theatre tickets. Take Julius Caesar, a great play for the average English student and for people who love a first-class dramatic play. Tickets for this could cost as much as £24, but if you’re a member of React, could cost as little as £5.50!
So, the next time you’re in Cardiff and fancy doing something a little different with your day, why not pop into the New Theatre and sign up to React? It only takes a few minutes, consisting of filling in a few details about yourself. You’ll be notified as soon as you’ve become a registered member of the scheme via a your choice of communication (e.g. email). You can also do it online here.
In the meantime, take a look for a play showing soon that takes your fancy in a New Theatre booklet that may be regularly delivered to you and can be found in the New Theatre or online at www.newtheatrecardiff.co.uk.

I love React. I've been a member for about two or three years. It's a really great scheme and I thoroughly encourage everyone to join. Theatre is so wonderful!

I must confess I thought I was the only one part of this. I will admit I have had trouble with the React offers before. £5 for tickets have been fantastic for the past several years. Free programmes have proven more allusive. What used to be a voucher is now an email to confirm a free one. This has proven to be a great complication on the Tuesday nights we are allowed one. I recall a time when I had booked a ticket for A Man for All Season in the front row of the stalls. Only then for Arts Atice to ring me up and say someone else had booked the same seat. I was put all the way back in Row U. Not a happy bunny...
