Superkidz, a Truth Team of young people from Mary Immaculate High School who are part of Platform 51’s Truth About Youth project, organised and held a Christmas party for members of Age Concern’s Healthy, Wealthy and Wise group in Ely.

The two groups have been writing to each other as part of a pen-pal project, organised by Superkidz, to challenge negative stereotypes about young people. Superkidz thought that Christmas was the perfect excuse to get together with their pen-pals and finally put a face to a name! The event was held in the old Trelai Library in Ely and went brilliantly.

The young people organised food, drinks, games and carol singing, and got to sit down and get to know their pen-pals face to face. A lot of festive fun was had by all! Phylis, a member of Healthy, Wealthy and Wise, said: “It’s absolutely amazing how young people can look after and entertain! It was wonderful and very well organised.” James, 14, of Superkidz, said: “It was brilliant, fantastic and really fun. I would like to do it again.”
