Being A Parent

Becoming a parent is a huge life changing responsibility, it changes your life forever, changes how you manage and spend your money, changes your lifestyle and is one of the most special and challenging decisions you can ever make.

Becoming a Mum or a Dad represents a lifelong commitment, its not just about having a little cute baby to play with, it’s taking responsibility for the life of another human being for the rest of yours.

It can feel overwhelming having to take on the responsibilities of bringing up a child.

Love comes naturally to most parents, but everyone faces difficulties at some point or another - from babies who won't sleep at night and toddlers who throw tantrums.

You have to learn how to be a good parent as you go along, its not knowledge that you naturally have and most people manage these emotional and practical challenges with a mixture of love, help from relatives and friends, good advice and common sense.

Some people need additional help and if you feel you need some professional advice on raising children, then a parenting class might be for you.

You can also refer to this section for information, advice and support, ranging from pregnancy and giving birth, to looking after toddlers and starting your child’s school education.

If you want to speak to someone informally, then we can offer you tht service.
Our worker can meet you at our office, a local youth centre, your school or college, for a chat about relationships, your rights, and what you can do if you find yourself in a bad relationship or near the end of one.
We can also offer the same service over the phone or via email.
Please contact us with any query, no matter how big or small.
