Eczema, or dermatitis, is a skin condition that can affect anyone. It usually appears as dry, itchy and flaky skin, which causes irritation and a sore red rash.

This can be triggered by:

  • Dust
  • Pets
  • Food allergies
  • Detergents
  • Soaps
  • Beauty products

It can also be caused by:

  • Asthma
  • Hay fever
  • Stress
  • Can be hereditary

Don’t be embarrassed if you suffer from eczema. There are many treatments available such as specialist moisturising creams, bath oils and antihistamines. However, speak to your doctor or a pharmacist for advice on the best treatment for you.

Taking evening primrose capsules and avoiding dairy produce can help some people with eczema too. Speak to a dietician for advice on what foods you should try to avoid.
