somewhereto_re:store launch after show - The Blackout

Here at somewhereto_re:store Cardiff we’re super excited to announce that The Blackout will play an exclusive acoustic set for our launch after show.

---------------------

The Blackout

Growing from small-town heroes to a global rock force, The Blackout don’t need much introduction now, especially here in Wales.

Wind back to 2005, though, Smith, Butler, Matthew Davies, Rhys Lewis, Gareth Lawrence and James Davies were a bunch of mates from Merthyr Tydfil. “The band was a by-product of our friendship,” remembers Butler. “We’re all from the same town and have known each other since God-knows-when – my mother used to take me to nursery and I’d hang out with Sean as a baby.” By the end of 2006 they’d toured the UK and released their debut EP The Blackout The Blackout The Blackout on Fierce Panda (launchpad for Coldplay among others); at the close of 2007 they’d torn up stages around the world, including dates in Japan, the US and storming sets at Leeds and Reading Festivals, and unleashed We Are The Dynamite, their debut full-length, on an unsuspecting world. They had also sold out the prestigious London Astoria while technically unsigned.

Their fourth studio album, titled Start the Party, was released on 21st January 2013. Largely different to band's previous material, it will definitely trigger an overwhelming sense of optimism and excitement in your life. Just exactly what you would need this summer. So come along and join the party!

---------------------

The after show will begin straight after launch (4 pm - 6pm), due to limited space within the store - be there early to avoid disappointment. Or, just come to the launch! Not only to secure a space, but to enjoy some more live music. Or just to check out the place and all the exciting opportunities it has to offer you!
